Dr Harsha Gunawardhana

Joined our practice in 2012. Qualified MBBS in 1998 and has extensive hospital and general practice experience in Sri Lanka prior to his arrival in Australia.

Dr Aruna Wijayaratne

Joined our practice in 2012. Qualified MD 1991 in USSR and has a certificate in Family Medicine 1993. He has GP experience since 1998 with a special interest in skin cancer management.

Dr Nirmala Godavitharana

Joined in 2012. She qualified MBBS in 2002 and has extensive general practice experience in Sri Lanka. Also holds a diploma in Anaesthesiology from Sri Lanka and a diploma in Skin Cancer from University of Queensland. 

Dr Hafis Tijani

Joined our practice in 2014. He qualified MBBS 2009 in Nigeria and has worked in hospitals in Nigeria and at Royal Darwin Hospital. He also holds a masters in Health Management from the Queensland University of Technology and a Diploma in Child Health.

Dr Tijani has called Darwin home for the past 5 years and enjoys playing soccer, watching movies and is involved in community activities.

Dr Wasana Ratnayake

 Joined our practice in 2014. She qualified MBBS in 2003 and has experience working in Sri Lanka before coming to Australia.  

Dr Nelumka Dayaratne

Born and raised in Darwin, Dr Dayaratne qualified BSC (Monash), MBBCh, BAO from University College Dublin, and diploma in Paediatrics (NSW). She is a Fellow of RACGP with 7 years GP experience in Melbourne prior to her return to Darwin three years ago. She also consults at Nakara Medical Clinic and Dwyer Medical Clinic.

Dr Ben Dayaratne

Trained in paediatrics in the UK, Dr Ben was a senior registrar at the Children's Hospital in Sydney and Senior Consultant Paediatrician at Royal Darwin Hospital from 1974 - 1988. He now practices at Palmerston Medical Clinic and Nakara Medical Clinic.


A Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Paediatrics (FRACP), a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians - London (FRCP), Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH), and holder of a Diploma in Child Health - London (DCH). He also held an academic position as a senior lecturer in paediatrics (adjunct) at Flinders University until 2014.
